Brian E. Miller MA, LPCC
Brian began his journey in the healing arts at Crystal Mountain Massage School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA in 1996. Upon graduation, he worked as a “soigneur” for the professional Saturn Cycling Team until the end of 1999 when he returned to Albuquerque and to Crystal Mountain Massage School as a massage instructor and professional massage therapist. He taught intro to massage, sports massage, deep tissue massage, Lomi-Lomi Massage, business practices, ethics, and assisted in providing mentorship and oversight to student interns undergoing clinical hours. He also provided Ethics continuing education for licensed graduates. During this time, Brian also maintained an active private practice in massage therapy.
Brian went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Southwestern College in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 2008 and began a private practice treating clients with addictions, compulsive gambling behaviors, body-focused repetitive disorders, trauma histories, depression, anxiety, spiritual crises, and phase of life challenges. He treats clients through a lens informed by Somatic Trauma Therapies, Existential Psychotherapy, Transpersonal Psychology, Positive Psychology, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. He maintains his private practice in
Albuquerque, New Mexico, Koi Pond Counseling.
Beyond his busy private practice, Brian is an avid photographic artist producing projects, books, and zines that blend artistry, psychology, spirituality, and philosophy. His photography website is LomiMonk Photography. One can also follow him on IG or Twitter @lomimonk
Brian's first self-published book of poems and pictures, “Viral Meditation: Volume 1: Peering Into The Cottage Of Darkness” was published in late 2020. He also hikes and camps extensively. He resides in Albuquerque, New Mexico with his wife and two sons.
