PART 9 COUNSELING SERIES = REFLECTION OF MEANING AND INTERPRETATION/REFRAMING
Language and Dialogue Process - Skills Development for Practitioners.
A backdrop of safety and communication is a crucial part of any bodymindspirit practice. Yet, during training, the development of verbal skills are often overshadowed by manual skills and techniques.
This series of monthly presentations and discussions will break down and work with the verbal and dialogue skills needed for any bodymindspirit practice.
The presentations will be based around the textbook: Intentional Interviewing and Counseling: Facilitating Client Development in a Multicultural Society by Ivey, Ivey and Zalaquett - 9th edition.
We will engage in a relatively informal format for the series with each monthly meeting involving a short presentation followed by group discussion and recommended exercises. For those participants working to complete the entire series, short quizzes and reflections will be offered to enhance and deepen their learning.
An understanding of the materials presented in this series is helpful for any practitioner and is also a key pre-requisite for SIBT-The Mind.
